Originally this blog was also used to house copies of my maps for orienteering runs. Today I drew a 1K circle around my house, laid out a course staying within the 2K circle and keeping off off private properties. Goal was to run as far as possible in one hour. I was a little over in 1:03:39. Such is the aging process. Still it was a good run slowly getting use to running hard for the whole time without taking walks. The map is still being field checked so more public access spots aren't mapped (25-26-27 went through USD497 and Hallmark Cards parking lots).. Very simple map reading and the streets are almost all familiar except for streets I hadn't been on to get the distance in.
My grandfather was named King Mar. This blog is about Lawrence and Wichita (KS), endurance sports, and my family and especially about a guy named King.
